Country Christian Music With Soul!

What is Country Christian Music? By most people’s beliefs, the answer is quite simple, it is country music with a Christian message and a little bit of soul ya'll.

Country Music is also characterized mainly by spiritual themes and twangy instrumentation. The actual sound of Country Gospel Music varies tremendously from artist to artist, as many well-known country artists have sung their Gospel material in their own singular styles.

Holy Cross and a Guitar This music has been around for many generations. Its resulting origins are a blend of early mountain music, cowboy music and the music from the plantations of the Deep South. It was out of this blend of many music styles, that we arrived at this special kind of gospel music or country style music.

In the past, most Country Christian Music was recorded by groups with southern gospel roots. Some familiar artists with this flair would be the Oak Ridge Boys, The Cook Family Singers, Ray Price, Red Sovine, The Louvin Brothers and The Carter Family, Jeff and Sheri Easter (also popular in Bluegrass circles) Charlie Daniels, The Crabb Family (also popular with Southern Gospel fans).

This music, lyrically, is about real life situations for many, and this real life includes heart-break as well as the faith that gets them through it.

All over the world and through out it, many churches have sprung up around the country with country gospel music as their main musical format. This type of country music can also be found in such churches which are also known as Cowboy Churches.

What are cowboy churches you may ask? The answers my friend is this, it is a church that is distinctively western in heritage. A typical cowboy church may meet in a rural setting of a barn, metal building, arena, sale barn or old western building. And in that same venue you may expect to find that this is were some folks also host rodeo shows in their own rodeo arena and where you may also expect to find a country gospel band.
