What Is RSS?
I've been seeing orange RSS or XML buttons more and more, not knowing what they were. So here is a simplified explaination.
It has alot of great uses.
you can use it to get newsfeeds from news groups such as CNN, MSNBC, or BBC, as well as just about any other news group that uses RSS feeds. It also subscribes to and includes, news on upcoming gospel movies, DVD releases, your favorite gospel tour updates, what's going on in the gospel world with new artists etc.
Once you add a RSS feeder, it's like having your favorite parts of the Web come to you to keep you up on the goings on in the world.
"RSS" means "Really Simple Syndication." But that is just a fancy way of saying that you can keep up with all the updates to Gospel Music lyrics with Soul without having to check the site every week to see "what's new." Whenever I put up a new page or update an old one, I will release it through RSS and make other special posts from time to time.
Most people have their own style of gospel music choices, so hopefully I'm giving them a great opportunity to share their favorites and to see and hear some of others, in this way we all can grow and learn.
I can share them with you from time to time through RSS. This gives you quick peaks without you having to spend hours on the site.
Yes, RSS is amazing. No e-mail is required and the best part, No spam. It's so easy to subscribe and unsubscribe. If you get tired of me , you just have to delete the feed. It's awesome!
And once you start, you'll soon be tracking all your other favorite interests and news in the world.
How do you get started? Easy. First you need to download a free RSS Reader(skip to bottom if you do not want to download software). This is special software that reads the "RSS feeds" from the largest news organizations right down to little old me...
Windows -- RssReader
http://www.rssreader.com/
Mac -- NetNewsWire
http://ranchero.com/netnewswire/
Once you're set up, here's all you have to do...
Right-click (control-click for Mac users) on any orange RSS button on a site, blog or news source that interests you. Start by right-clicking on the orange button below. Then...
Select Copy Shortcut ("Copy Link to Clipboard" for Mac), and paste that URL into your RSS Reader.
And that's it! You're subscribed.
Right-click and get started.
Be Blessed!
